Planting Roots: A Living Symbol of Legacy, Innovation, & Connection
When Verdant Specialty Solutions reopened its newly renovated R&D lab in Halifax, we marked the moment with more than a ribbon cutting: we planted a tree. But not just any tree. We planted a Ginkgo!
Known for its resilience, longevity, and strength, the Ginkgo tree has long symbolized endurance and wisdom across cultures. It also holds special meaning for our global family.
At Samyang Holdings, Verdant’s parent company, a 500-year-old Ginkgo tree grows outside the company’s headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. Planted as a symbol of Samyang’s values and long-term vision, it serves as a daily reminder of the legacy that innovation can leave behind.
By planting our own Ginkgo in Halifax, we’re carrying that tradition forward — rooting it in a new location, within a new chapter of growth and possibility.
This tree now stands outside our state-of-the-art lab as a living tribute to:
🌍 The strength of global collaboration
💡 Our commitment to sustainable innovation
🌱 The continuity between past, present, and future
At Verdant, we believe that science should serve a lasting purpose. That small acts (like planting a tree) can represent something much larger.
As this Ginkgo grows, so does our commitment to the people and partners we serve, to the planet we share, and to the values that guide us forward.
